How また is formed

また can be used both as an adverb and as a conjunction.

When used as an adverb また is often associated with the particle も to form the expression また~も, which means besides, in addition to:

()ったらいい。また、()かなくてもいいよ。

The kanji of また is (また)

また as a conjunction: "again"

The most common use of また is as a conjunction to mean again, once again.

In general, また expresses the idea of something that repeats itself, be it a situation or an action.

また(べん)(きょう)した。

He studied again.

From the example we see how また is found at the beginning of the sentence to indicate that the subject performs the indicated action again, in this case study ((べん)(きょう)する).

また as an adverb: "besides"

The second use of また is as an adverb to indicate in addition, besides.

As an adverb また is used to add more information than what has been said, indicating that something or someone "is also" something more:

その()(かな)しく、また、(かん)(どう)させる(ぶん)(がく)でもある。

That poem is sad, and it is also an emotional lyrical composition.
